Most of the sediment will just pass through the valve. The slightly decreased life of the valve is preferred to repeated nuisance calls for debris in the screen.
That’s your opinion. Everyone knows fluidmasters are sensitive to trash in the water.


Eliminating trash in the water, ( aka filtering) is the answer. Its really simple.

If the filters are clogging…..then you have another problem to address.

You’ve said it all…..twice. Screens that aren’t screens and wye strainers and this and that.

it’s all good buddy, relax.

I just asked if anyone else has had failures as I’ve described. It’s not suppose to be as complicated as some are making it.

I have a good friend that owns a fitting distributorship. He laughs at me when I talk about quality fittings and valves.

The plumbing industry wants cheap. It’s that simple.
