I get a call from someone on Sunday morning stating that his water in the home has
gone completely dead.. around 10am......

First I think maybe his water softener had exploded and filled the home up with resin and
it needs to be all blown out....adn maybe I sell him a new water softener.....

I call the fellow and he tells me that he is on a well and he gets nothing from any faucets including
his outside hose bibs..... I figure his well had gone out...

I give him a number to a reputable well guy to call today to get his well serviced,, then he takes
down the number and then I tell him how to borrow water from a neighbor by hooking up to their
outside hose bib and tieing it onto his outside faucet.....

He thanks me for the advice and is happy that he can get by until Monday...

He texted me this morning and says ..... how do I know if I am on a well or not???
this guy is a grown man and has lived in this home for well over a decade and does not
know his ass from a hole in the ground about how his home works.....

I texted him back and asked him---- do you pay a water bill??

he texted me back and said "yes" ......

So , duhhhhhh maybe you did not pay your bill this month???

I think I might have insulted him by being so sarcastic
but I dont think I can bring myself to deal with a doof like this

See see I'm not the only with soaps and twilight zone stories.

Here's one from 2 weeks ago. I'm about to park at a store when the phone rang and this woman said her kitten disapeared through the toilet, she said she turned around and the cat was gone. She asked if I could retrieve the kitten. I wasn't really answering I was concentrating on parking and I heard a bunch of sobs and the line went dead. I looked at the phone number and it was "private" which lead me to believe was a dumb a$$ prank.

Here's one from 2 weeks ago. I'm about to park at a store when the phone rang and this woman said her kitten disapeared through the toilet, she said she turned around and the cat was gone. She asked if I could retrieve the kitten. I wasn't really answering I was concentrating on parking and I heard a bunch of sobs and the line went dead. Some people have way too much time on their hands. She should try to work hard like we do for a day and see how she does.

I had another cat caller. Lady called in tears saying "my cats are in the vents -I need help!" She was watching her friends cats for a few days. They disappeared and the house was being worked on.

She was sure they climbed down the open HVAC vents. Her idea was to use the drain camera she had seen used at her house to locate the cats in the ductwork.

I didn't go but reassured her that even if they were in there they would have plenty of air and would likely find their way out. If not, you'd hear them soon enough.

Some people have way too much time on their hands. She should try to work hard like we do for a day and see how she does.

Ooooooh, the Humanity...... it really concerns me when I think about how helpless most everyone really is....
To think a grown man who has lived in his home for more than a decade does not know the first thing about
how anything functions in his own abode.... well maybe he knows how to change a light bulb....
maybe he can change a roll of toilet paper too.... .
Running around like a helpless little kitten.. and cant even tell the plumber on the other end of the phone
if he pays a water bill or not because that is his wifes job to do
.

I am willing to bet that he knows how to set his cable TV to record all his favorite shows..for weeks on end...
.....

You know I fear that if something like an earth quake happenned here in the USA like what just went down in Turkey
its gonna be every man for himself and people will be literally dieing on the vine....everywhere..
then its gonna get very ugly when the heat and food runs out.

The fools will just blame Donald Trump for everything and somehow it will all be ok....

There's a whole lot of ignorant people in this world. Half of people don't know where their main shut off is. Most women don't know the difference between a gas or electric water heater so I ask them if there's a chimney, they don't know what a chimney is. I ask if there's an electrical wire, they don't know what a wire is. Most people shop prices to have their only toilet unclog, thei'll shop for days, kitchen sinks for days or weeks.

Last week a man was told to remove the dishwasher by HD, he removed the hose completely flooding the place and he called me, I told him to shut the valves, he didn't know where the main was either. He followed the pipes in the basement and finally found if after a while.


Most people put vinegar and baking soda to try and unclog a kitchen sink, which both combined neutralizes and yet women got 90%+ score in chemistry in high school.

I guess its just the impatient and brash side of my plumber's personality that
flies off the handle once in a while when you stumble into something like this....
and not thinking it through... my bad..

I got a lady right now that I know is going nuts because her husband is
bed-ridden with Alzheimers at home for years and years and she is the only caregiver.
all the kids have moved away and she is all alone treading water in the ocean for both
her and her husband.....
I am pretty sure that its driving her crazy cause I can hear it on the phone..
I am supposed to go by there later today to check out the "noises" that she is
now hearing from the water heater in the garage..... .and last month it was the
water softener

We have known them for years so its basically going to be
a charity call to go check it out..

My father in law has dementia,and it's given me a whole new way of looking at things like this,it is awful

Sad,the disease is slowly killing them both

Actually I went through the same thing with my parents..
and as time has passed I have tried to get it out of my memory
...
Mom came down with the disease in 91 and my dad had to take care of
her for about 5 years and of course he was stubborn a-hole and would not get help
... It just about killed both of them and we finally had to intervene and force help on them
She finally passed away, that was an ugly mess I would not wish on anyone.......

If I were to ever come down with it,
I am gonna have an accident cleaning my guns
or go somewhere like Switzerland where they would put me down.
