Another week is about to start.... last week I had 2 broken down trucks....
and a case of food poisoning that about kept me home on Monday ....

now this week looks like truck #3 needs a brake job.... sweet.

I got into a spat on Satruday with an elderly couple who claimed my partner who
weighs in at about 225 somehow broke their whirlpool tub when he had to get
into it to change the tub drain...... somehow he cracked the tile grout around the edjes...
I used Dap and grouted the edjes for them, but that did not make them happy
then the front panel on the tub would not go back into place properly
and that was somehow our fault too.... we broke the tub......

I could clearly see that the old lady is in the first stages of dementia and the old
man is about to go in a wheel chair --- or nursing home soon,,,,
and their poor daughter is basically having to deal with the whole situation.....
I gave them back their check and told them it was free and to
not call us again.... Call BEN....

When you cant make it up and down the steep, steep stairs and you have to crawl up them
and scoot down on your butt , you know that they wont be in that house much longer
and it seems they take their frustrations out on everyone around them

A broken truck sucks big time when you have appointments for customers. I was thinking of getting a second van in case this one breaks down and it would replace my old winter 4runner daily driver.

WE presently have 4 trucks.... but one is going out the door soon..
and the one I bought back in march is taking forever to find time to work on it
to set up shelves ect..... the heat has been 95 so its hard to get motivated
to do anything

I got about 13 calls today, 10 of them were disqualified.
One of them insisted for a referral 3 times even though I told him no.
Another hung up on me when I said I wasn't available.
One of them asked if I installed a water balloon? I didn't care to ask what he was referring to.
Another asked for emergency service even if I said I'm not available till September. This one is a common thing for them, WTF?

I got 2 real people out of the lot, so yeah I'm not busy.

I have no where to put this story, I was cleaning out the van a couple weeks ago when a woman parked in front of the house walked in my driveway with her young teen with an old 2 handle kitchen faucet. She asked if I had "thingies'". I was like oh what the F now. She then had a bag with some sort of chinese spray wand in it and wanted to remove the entire kitchen spout and put this contraption on.

I said no but she kept on pushing how she could manage it then asked what my rate was. Mam there's no price to be given. I could see she was frustrated, she asked again all I need is a thingy.

pulled and a new on installed at their home on Sunday....
I told them we could get
to it on Monday or on Tuesday for $1400... So maybe that was high but I dont
know what kind of crap I would be dealing with so I threw that price out
at them and they were ok with it.....

I called him this morning and he claimed that he decided to do it himself.....
That generally is a nasty job that most wont touch...... so I am thinking
that this shows the amount of money still left in the system that kids will
fool with a sewage pump instead of having it done for them....

People who say they'll do it themselves usually found someone cheaper.

Reminds me of a guy last week, he was so damn happy to have me replace his main condo valve, it was leaking for 3 weeks and buckled the floor. He unknowingly called 2 hacks, one of them showed up to his condo, a chinese who didn't speak one word of English or French. He had his wife along translating and said he didn't have the proper size valves and he would get them next week! The idiot was so dumb all he had to do was tighten the bonnet nut! Then he asked the other fool about pricing and he started to figure out he wasn't a real plumber. i got to replace the 1/2" valve.

But yeah this year is slowing down, no more masks, people back at work. Unusually I'm swamped during the 2 weeks vacation but not this year.
