I live in a sleepy little town. Not much to do here at all. All the children finally left home:)party:)
But without the grandchildren and all being here its a tad bit boring. My wife and I are both 48. We dont play much video games, but we were thinking about getting us one to kill time. I am trying to decide between an xbox and that wii. We prolly just play stupid little games on it and want to get one that has a better variety of games to it. I used to like things like sonic, and that cave woman adventurer type that acts like indiana jones.

If your looking for a fun system Wii is your best bet. If your looking for graphic's sports, killing, blood, death and destruction, Xbox is for you. Xbox controllers are geared more to the advanced gamer. Wii controllers even a 90 year old can use them. I have both fun with the family with the Wii and after coming home from dealing with people Xbox with Modern warfare or grand theft auto help relieve some stress

I have Wii and a Play Station 3. The little ones like the Wii, the big ones like the PS3. As mentioned the PS3 plays blue Ray and that is a nice touch, we actually don't buy DVD's anymore, just blue ray's. The image quality is insane with it. Not a big fan of Xbox but that's just me

I have heard more bad things about Xbox than good. Lots of people I know that have them, have had to send them back for repairs. Personally, I have a Wii, and a PS3. The kids and family love the Wii, and you can download all the classic original Nintendo games. The Wii sports resort is a fun game, 100 pin bowling is awesome.

The Ps3 is nice for the blue ray player as well. Both systems have internet browsing abilities. PS3, if you have aNetflix account, you can download movies right of the PS3, all though in my opinion, most the movies on there suck, and I have not heard of many of them.

UnclogNH nailed it with the Call of Duty, Modern Warfare is an awesome game on the Ps3.

Wii boxing is a blast. The wife and I like to beat the crap out of each other. Great for when your getting on each other nerves.:furious::boxing:

Wii resort is fun also, we like the sword fighting and ping pong.

Wii is nice because it gets you moving and off the sofa.

For low tech fun, how about board games?

Thinking games - Chess, Stratego, Risk, Mastermind, Scrabble

Puzzle Games - Blockus, (simple to learn, takes time to master), Trapture

Games of Luck - Trouble, Sorry, Parcheesi (Sp.)

Other fun - Book of Questions, Would You Rather (card game), and Truth or Dare

All of the above can be fun and get you to interact.

If you want to be adventuresome:

Teach each other something new.

Buy a cookbook and cook together.

Build something together.

BEST ADVICE - GET OFF THE DAMN INTERNET! Yeah, I'm one to talk. Having trouble with that one myself.

I did the boxing with my son (13) for about two hours. For the following two days I could barely lift my arms, I had to lower my face to the plate to eat:yes::censored:

I have had an X-box 360 live for a while now, no issues with it what so ever. I like the fact I can watch netflix on my x-box, and link my computer to it and watch stuff I downloaded on my computer in the living room with the Xbox.

I know others that own X box systems and yes they had issues, but it is mainly because they tried to use a hack on it and caused the damage themselves. Wii is a lot of fun, I do not own one but I play one at a good friends house. PS3 is overpriced.. but is a decent system if you do plan on using the Blu Ray disk feature.
