I would pack hydraulic cement around it and forget it's there.

What did your master tell you? Did you ask the customer if they knew? Should probably seek employment elsewhere if you can't get help from your master and have to ask online.

If it's an apartment building you shouldn't be touching it. Call the Super

This could be a potentially serious situation. I don't know if you saw all the extra lead around those joints. There could be just as much on the inside of the joints. Have you noticed any symptoms of lead poisoning after using that water?
