Any of you guys got any vevor equipment? I'm considering buying one for around 600 new. Was wondering if there's any bad stories on those. The camera head looks longer before it hits the spring but not too much longer, still should push thru. The price is hard to beat considering the competition, I just don't want complete trash and never be able to use it. I dont think it has a sonde tho so thats ....sad. i think i can add one tho

I wouldn't recommend a camera without a sonde or a foot counter. Most here will insist that Ridgid is the only camera worth buying and while I don't necessarily agree I can tell you that without a sonde you are missing a huge selling point on your scopes. A good used locator will still run you 700-1000 so you may as well invest in a good camera too. I'm very happy with my mytana ms2 it was 12x the cost of that vevor unit but it has paid for half of itself after my doors have only been open for 4 months. A lot of my jobs have been location jobs for other companies. Be your future friend and invest in what will make you money. In the end that's what matters most.

I wouldn't buy it if it doesn't have sonde or I couldn't add one. I have to look it back up now and find out. I really wouldn't be able to use it without sonde, I could get around not having a footage counter tho. Let me get back to you on that

The one I was looking at has a counter on it but didn't say anything about sonde. The next one up was 830 and had sonde in it but less cable. That's still decent tho as long as it works. The only push cameras I've used are all ridgid. From micro to the large reel. The last job I was on we had two minis with us but one of them was the "****ty one" and blacked out all the time, so it would have been nice to have my own camera.

Ridgid doesnt have sh!t on the Milwaukee, built in line tracing, color screen locator, stream over wifi to your phone or tablet, no additional monitor needed, and M18 powered. I love it. Ridgid and General need to get with the times.

And yeah ridgid needs to come up with something better when it comes to mapping out homes. And that new flex miller they came out with doesn't look like it will do anything. Maybe clear thru a tub drain ...

One of my plumbers used 'his 'camera and locator' the other day. Not that it wasn't a misread or error on his part but he missed badly. 7' deep sewer line break, not 3' feet. And five feet further away under the driveway. 10" thick concrete so we blamed it on the concrete depth and sent a change order. Unhappy customer....... I don't trust Chineseum cameras.

Ridgid has a WiFi unit now so you can carry in your reel and just stream to your phone or tablet. We bought several units to attach to our reels. Not sure what it costs compared to Milwaukee having it built in already. Feels like Ridgid was playing catch up selling an extra unit to clamp into the reel.

I have an ~8yr old Ridgid CS6PAK SeeSnake Camera on the van. Takes the same 18v Batteries as my Propress which is nice. Also have the Ridgid SR20 Locator/Transmitter/Current Clamp setup, bought at the same time. The transmitter goes through C cells faster than I would like but other than that the camera and pipe finder have both been great. Neither have needed to be repaired at all. I am told most cameras need a new head/head reattached at ~2-3yrs. I use my camera several times a week and I know how hard I have rammed that thing down pipes. I must have gotten one made on a wednesday.

The camera was ~$6k and the pipe finder setup was ~$3k. Both have paid for themselves several times over.

Don’t buy a camera without a sonde. Ever. As for the Vevor- if your plan is to throw it away and buy another when it breaks, go for it. Nothing wrong with that. We’ve got some el cheapo Forbest cameras we use when epoxy coating. When they die, we throw them away.
Is the vevor going to do what you expect it to? Meaning what size pipe do you expect to be in? How far do you expect to push? If you’re gonna say 2” to 6” up to 200’ forget it. Aint no camera consistently gonna do that.

lots of good cameras out there- Ridgid, Milwaukee, envirosight, hathorn, and the list goes on and on. The all in one mytana is a nice little unit. They all have their +’s and -’s. As for Milwaukee and Ridgid stepping on each other’s Johnson’s- their both band-wagon jumpers when it comes to the drain cleaning/ inspecting line.

Hard to beat better and cheaper............

Ridgid comes with as sales rep. I can give him a call and he will loan me a tool while I send in one for a repair. AND he will bring it to me. I can call him with a locating question and he walks me through the solution. One of my plumbers broke a ProPress jaw, he delivered a loaner sameday while we awaited a new one to be delivered.

I'm good with Ridgid.

At least Milwaukee figured out rotating propress jaws were necessary.

All good Terry.

Yes, very hard to be better and cheaper.

You just hit on what I’m talking about with Ridgid.

You don’t think a Ridgid didn’t know rotating propress jaws would be helpful ?

Sure they did. See what I mean now ?
