Had a good one today. Had to replace a section of cast that threaded through a spaghetti of ductwork, anaconda wiring, and galvanized water lines. The entrance to the space was about 14 x 16 and I had to take apart the ducts to even get in.

Always consider turning the power off before you have to interact with electrical wiring.

By interacting I mean crawling over it, in it or around it in order to get to your plumbing work.

I had to run some pex through an attic space to relocated a water heater. It was really close to were the main electrical panel was. I was laying on the wires to the entire home in the attic, the attic floor was covered in them.

Wires everywhere. I tell custy that I need to turn power off. He doesn’t like it. I say “ we’ll either I turn the power off or I can’t do the work “

He agrees but is kinda acting weird about it……

So we kill the main breakers and THE BACKUP GEN set starts to run…..

I say, “we have to turn the GEN off….”

He says “ I lost the Keys to the box “.

I bring out bolt cutters and he goes nuts……

So I reach over to the gas valve and turned his gas off. 🤣

Yes, I added $200 to his bill for being inconsiderate of Terry safety. Wrong or right, I did it and I won’t apologize for it.

I had a friend killed plumbing under a house by a naked wire. It’s no joke.
