I have a Moen, single handle showered faucet. It is a thin wall installation. The retaining plate is preventing me from removing the retaining ring so I can replace the cartridge.
The thin wall install plate cannot be pushed back Any ideas on how I can access the retaining pin?
Appreciate anyone's help on this. View attachment 133984

Don't forget the "Made with 100% recycled ocean plastic" stamp!I remember when they had the white plastic mud guard. Then they were black for a while. Now they're green. I wonder what color theyll be next. Grey. That's it. I believe they will be grey. Change my mind.
I was gonna suggest getting some monofilament line, properly tie a fish hook on the line, remove shower head and nipple the "fish" the hook and line down from shower head and hook the pinCut a hole in the wall behind the valve,to access the pin.
