I'm trying to fix a leaky shower faucet and I removed the hex screw, and soaked it in CLR for a few hours, tried using a wedge and a lever and the handle just won't budge. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Oh and I also went down to the local plumbing supply store to see if there was a faucet handle pullefor faucets without a centre pin but they had no ideas.

You need to hit it with a hammer to break the seal on the handle loose.

One really good whack on the side of the handle with a small sledge should fix it.

Cover the entire handle in hydraulic cement then smack the hydraulic cement with a hammer. The handle will pop right off.

Personally I like to shoot expanding foam, aka Great Stuff, behind the handle. As it expands it will push the handle off. Takes overnight though.

If you want faster results, use this: Sika Post Mix
That stuff expands like crazy, and is available at your local "You can do it, we can help" store.

I've also had good luck with trinitrotoluene. It will free almost anything if you apply the right amount.
