Should of disqualified them

Did a job yesterday, a couple who are on standby offer to sell their big expensive house. I had the feeling the woman was complaining about the rate on the phone but she called back to take an appointment. I should of blocked her after her first call

I was greeted by the husband they wanted stuff fixed from the inspection report, the lav pop up was leaking, he didn't want to change it out even if it was corroded, tightened the nut ok. Then I replaced the kitchen faucet and told him the illegal auto piercing valve for the fridge and aquarium tubing was a flood waiting to happen. He replied the inspector didn't mention anything. I didn't get involved in that argument but he refused to cap it or redo the line.

Gave him the bill and he flipped out when he read I wrote they refused to fix the illegal line and corroded drain, he asked me to write another document not disclosing the fact. No way I'm cheating I'm protecting myself, that thing leaks and I'll be thrown under the train. He argued I was creating more work for myself. More work, you refused!! He kept at it for a while I was trying so hard to remain calm and kept saying no I'm not doing that false paperwork and I finally said will you sign and pay or not. He dialed his wife and came back after a few minutes and signed off pretending not to be angry. I finally got paid an hour later.

I dislike people now, so many problem customers.

That piercing valve is beautiful.

I will frequently write on my service tickets issues I have seen. If I see something like that, don't mention it and make a note, that would be morally wrong in my opinion.

I did like Tango does. If its on the inspection sheet to be replaced or repaired and the customer says let that go he will take care of it, you can bet
your hind end that is said on the invoice. Don't let them come back on you saying you didn't fix it.

I’ve seen those metal escutcheons cut into the pex and cause a leak.

Better put that on the ticket.

I really dont like it when the pex is brought into the cabinet, its not much more work to bring in a proper coper stub out and it looks so much cleaner

In the US we only get thrown under the bus, but Au Canada, they throw you under the train!.....LOL

You did the proper thing by noting on the invoice about the illegal items that you observed. He's foolish to not have you repair those.

Oh well, c'est la vie monsieur.

No way I’d ever live there. I wouldn’t even visit after what I’ve heard.

There hasn't been any copper pipe in houses for the last 30+ years

Haha I made sure to change that saying a little bit to see if someone would catch on, plus I watched a movie recently and it was a man jumping in front of a train .

The inspector didn't say anything about the fridge line. The majority of them are con artists in bed with real estate agents to make a sale. It's so bad the good inspectors get shunned and the agents get together to collude and make them lose all potential customers and they are obliged to close their business. I've been to so many hacked houses and the inspection were all roses.

I'm afraid to go to the US, one time on a trip the first US resident who said something to us, "I'll sue you" when he felt the convenience store parking was for him only....

Asset Forfeiture seizures

Corrupt cops

Having the need to carry an AR-15 going out or carrying a pistol into customer homes, now that's insane.

I’ve never had those problems. I do carry a firearm on occasion but never into a customers house.

I think the same woman left a 1 star review without any text but she used a pseudo name so I can't confirm if it's the same person but it was an hour and a half after the job. Do I write an explanation of the falsification they wanted me to commit?

I would certainly write an explanation for them giving you a bad review for not
lying for them....

you have the right to defend yourself

I'll write it up and see if it flushes them out or not and see if they decide to post something. If they post something they are going to expose how they wanted to cheat. What I dislike about the reviews is they can edit it anytime like years down the road and write anything they want including lies if I don't check I'll never know to defend against their claim.

Yes they can edit the review or even take it down too... and you can edit the review too if you if you so choose...
I have gone back in way later and made an updated response to some rotten coc/sucker
that could not just leave it lay.......

If they really wanted to start trouble, then they got a bunch of magazine subscriptions
landing in their mailbox for the next year or two they would have to deal with
🤣 🤣 :ROFLMAO:  :poop:
