I think that covers it, some have been bought by others/combined.



I got paid to fix one over the phone tonight, A.O. Smith Powershot.


Temperature sensor had carbon buildup; steel wool cleaned it up and started running smoooooooth.

Most of the supply houses here sell either Bradford White or Lochinvar, with AO Smith as an option since they have a distribution center nearby.

We only install Lochinvar tank type heaters, perhaps as many as three a year.

Lochnivar is a good brand, so is Bradford White.



I don't install many BW's in my area. Had a falling out with the only supply house that sells them and it's nearly impossible to get service there in the mornings, let alone park a truck within a freaking city block. F:censored: that! :furious:

Never got into power vent so no real knowledge of them.

American, Craftmaster, Whirlpool, State, Kenmore....are all divisions of A.O. Smith. To some extent, some are still separate companies, meaning not all are manucfactured in the same factories. But most did seem to suffer from the same design problems on the FVIR.
