Opinion as to what this job worth??

House is built in 1905..... Right now the building is being used as a 3 story church.
The third story bathroom is leaking down into the second story bathroom
and its leaking out of 4 inch duram steel fittings. with pinholes in it
... and the tub drain line is split about 14 inches long
you can see the crack in the picture

everything is antique...... Got a Clawfoot tub on the third floor with a lead toilet flange and a lead line going to the sink.

I told them to cut open a hole through the wood floor on the third level to be able to slice off the Durham steel arm coming out of the
verticle wall and put a fernco fitting on it then do the rest from the ceiling below.....

The walls on the second floor bathroom are old Italian marble and I have never
seen a shower installed like this before..... all antique.

I did not take pictures of the clawfoot tub on the third floor...

So what is this worth?????

The building is beautiful but is going to be a beast to maintain
and it would be wiser just to sell the building and walk away with around 2 million dollars
and let some woke nut deal with this mess

I like the sounds of leaving a woke nut to deal with it...but woke nuts aren't usually great at that type of thing.

Yes but Woke Nuts normally they have millions of dollars
to piss away that they inherited from their woke parents.....

They really desire to live in an older upscale woke area where you can
walk your poodles down the streets and feel good about yourself when you
use a plastic bag to pick up the poodles dog crap....

and also they love re-modelling and the feeling of being a boss
and they hope and pray that this project might make it to some
kind of reality fix-er-upper show on TV.....

Its a dream come true...

Poll : how do non-woke people pick up their dog crap?
Sorry I just had to ask.

My dogs drop their turds in one section of the yard and I take 10 minutes each week, pick it all up with my nitrile glove right into some large container.
No messing with bags, or accidently smoshing it all over with the shovel, and better than that one house that had a 3' high dung heap as they shoveled it all off their back deck.

Just to be clear, you're saying that these "Woke Nuts" are good at making money?

Well actually I was pulling into this place on Satruday morning and a hot chick was out on the sidewalk with
her poodle and he was straining to pinch one off.... She had a plastic bag on her hand and was waiting for
the dog to drop his load.... I slowed down for a minute to watch and we both started laughing....

they probably buy special sanitary bags to keep from getting their hands dirty

Not necessarily.... they just act that way..... most probably dont have a pot to piss in
but they are not gonna let on that they are common folks....

I see a lot of this also in the more affulent areas of town...too..

I was pointing out that while you say they are just pretending to be wealthy they also do in fact live in the affluent areas of town.

It just seems like you want to paint them in a bad light because you think they are "woke", regardless of whether they are actually doing well or not.

Some are very wealthy, and many are just trying to act the part.
being a plumber, you see this all the time in many up-scale neighborhoods....
basically, I am painting them as being a bunch of spoiled entitled pussies.....
so its my bad......

For god's sake,
would you please just call me a RACIST and get it over with...

I don't think you're racist, I actually think you're a pretty good guy. You're one of the people on here I'd like to buy a beer. I look foward to seeing your posts.

I just think that you, like most people, have trouble seeing the good in people you disagree with. You have trouble acknowledging that these "woke" people could have good qualities. If you see them as normal people then you might feel like normal people could have "woke" opinions, which might mean that "woke" opinions could be reasonable.

I put "woke" in quotes because I don't feel there's a good definition of "woke" that we all can agree on, other than "woke" being an insult.

I do jobs like these by the hour and only for existing customers or people that have been referred to me by a good customer.

Some I’ve billed by the day and require payment at the end of each day. Some I require a material deposit before the work starts.

Im the boss.

I worked for one customer that the dogs went out to run and play and they would come back in the house to sh*t. Had to work on their toilet once and this big dryed up
pile was lying in front of the toilet. I ask her to clean it up. She told me it was clean. I looked over and it was kicked in the closet. Wonder how she would answer
the poll.

I probably would’ve never made it to the bathroom. The smell must’ve been horrendous.

When people live like animals, I turn around and get in my truck and never look back. No explanations given, I just leave.

I am gonna quote this job just for the experience....
I have not done this in a good decade or more

I am gonna tell them 5k and see what they do.... this might go easy
or it might go hard...... I know I will burn through a few of those diablo steel cutting
blades and I hope they make them in one foot long lengths just to be sure its a 100% clean cut ....

Always puts a smile on my face to see 3" and 4" threaded galv vents/drains. Definitely bring a 25 pack of cut off disks for the grinder too.

I will have to get the diablo steel cutting blades in at least a foot long length...
I have cut 1/4 inch thick boiler plate steel like it was butter with them before

I dont think I can get a grinder into the tight space....
and the sparks might set the horse hair insulation in the walls
on fire and I wont risk that
