There’s old man hole covers everywhere up here in New England but I’m sure the dems will find a way to have them all taken up and destroyed because they’re somehow offensive. Some of them are hundreds of years old. They only change them when they get damaged or start to rock on their base. I know a guy who works for the sewer dept in a neighboring town and was able to get two covers with the bases and I installed them over my septic tank. Now when I get my tank pumped I don’t have to do any digging.
I would love to get one of those from Salem. I would also find some way to put it to good use, but also to just admire it.
My father was a fireman, and he got me an old fire hydrant when I used to breed dogs, to put in the run to let the males use it to lift their leg on. Still have it, no use for it where I live now, but just might put it in the back yard as a conversation piece. It's heavy as a bastard, but I hate to get rid of it.
