I sat for my master's in 1991-92 and we were tested on BOTH which gave you a master's license that reads " Master Plumber / Gasfitter "

That too was in Va.
I have heard that now it is a separate test .

Good Luck !!

IN CALIF. STATE IT'S COVERED BY GEN. PLUMBING LICENSE
IN EASTERN WASH. STATE YOU NEED A SPECIAL CERTIFICATION
IN WESTERN WASH. STATE JUST A REGULAR JOURNEYMAN LIC.

IN UTAH STATE IT'S COVERED BY REGULAR LIC,

Plumbers can do gas pipe work in Illinois, in Chicago if it is a significant amount it usually is done by pipefitters, or the plumbing contractor will sub it out to them.

We do all gas, CO venting, waste & water here.

One code, the whole state...no regional jurisdictions, no major variations.

Some of you guys have it bad, on another forum there are guys talking about how codes & licensing can change from one town to the next, I'd go outta my mind.
