Hi everyone, it’s been a long while since I posted anything. Happy to announce I passed my red seal exam here in Ontario Canada and am starting a plumbing company. My focus will be on service and renovations since that’s the contacts I have so far.

My question is, does anyone have experience with field service software such as Service Titan or Jobber? I know the old timers here are going to roast me and tell me to use a piece of paper and a pen to write invoices etc, but just thought I’d ask. Thanks

Service titan. They charge you more than you can make on a job
Is that true? They blow me up every week. But I have t talked to them. I saw a YouTube video and a company spotlight on the owner and his 7 trucks. I feel like you’d be driving something (yet again with a high value company) nicer than a leveled jeep gladiator with after market wheels and tires. But what I do know.

@Tango Perhaps the references to a specific software should be removed until the poster does the proper intro?

I don’t care if you try it out or not. Just a suggestion for an alternative to housecall, or jobber

I like that I get the first 20 invoices free each month. So for a small owner operator I am not paying a huge monthly fee.

As I said I have been using with success for 4 years now. Can sync with QuickBooks and others for taxes.

HouseCall and jobber looked great except the monthly fee.

Proper introduction, like this website CLEARLY REQUIRES or you get banned. Simple, read and follow the rules.

The shop I work for is going to be switching platforms soon so I'm out looking at the options as well. Figured I'd chime in on our experience and see what's out there.
I'll try to remember and share the results after a few month trial with whatever we find

We currently use the Intuit(QuickBooks) Field Service Management system. It's not bad but it has its issues.
Very affordable, decent capability. Of course it has two way syncing with QuickBooks.

The app interface is pretty dated though and clumsy to work with. It takes many clicks to do simple things like remove one item from invoice, add a photo, complete a job, look through history. We run into syncing issues every now and then. Need to type in credit cards or take credit/cash. No other payment option.

We haven't received replies from the technical customer service about fixing issues for the past few years. Seems like development is stalled.

It's 2023 now and the competition is looking pretty good. The pricing ranges from similar, to considerably higher. What are you guys finding useful? I'm helping out our IT guy and checking out options.

From their websites they all seem to have modern, easy to navigate apps, plenty of the important options like work orders, customer history, syncing with QuickBooks, tech gps, invoicing, proposals, etc. More options as the pricing goes up

I'm checking these out now:

Service Titan
Knowify
Jobber
RazorSync
Service M8? (seems similar basic interface as QuickBooks FSM)
Others?

What are you guys using and do you like it?

He joined almost a month ago, he had plenty of time to navigate the forum reading the rules and reading the membership email. I'll give till morning.

” pen and paper “. Keywords
I’m the same.
An invoice is hand written when I’m done each service call, it’s signed, cash/check is given, a credit card is swiped or they have 24hs to pay by EMT. I did 4 service calls today they all were paying by EMT, by the time I got home they all had been paid.

For bigger or commercial jobs I’ll email an invoice.
