Facebook, and the beloved "Hot Water Tank"

I've seen this situation many times and there has been the rare time when the person really had no option but to live with the situation. MOST times, family, friends or even social assistance programs will help lesson the burden. But it's not so rare to find people that would just live without hot water because they have no other choice.
I've put in toilets, sump pumps, replaced a water heater element, etc over the years after discovering that these people simply did not have the means to have it done for them. That's after checking extensively too. I'd never do it on a lark and I've probably heard the "oh woe is me" chant a hundred times more than the charity work I've actually done. I reckon that over the past 25 yrs the cost hasn't gone over $500 or $600 dollars, plus my time. (If you figured my labour into it you could prolly add a zero or two, tho.)

But the first course of "charity work" is to check out the persons situation as best you can. That is time spent (which costs you) and most times you'll find a daughter or nephew or someone that'll take care of these things.

Facebook water heater replacements? Cool idea but could get lame real quick.
