I’m hiking in a park and noticed there are four new sanitary sewer covers on top of cylindrical type of pipe. These were not here last year when I hiked the same trail. It’s off in the wooded part of the park.

Would anything had to have changed from last year to now that required the town to install these here? I guess a general explanation as to why there are multiple ones along this trail is what I am fascinated by. Thanks for any info.

I might be able to tell you something if I could see the layout.

Those risers are cast/ductile iron?
I believe it was ductile iron. All of them were identical. Approximately 150-200ft apart along the trail. If you were walking in a straight line, one would be on your left; the following one would be on the right.

Park is pretty far from houses. No new construction in the area in a while. I saw four total, but there may have been more had I kept walking that way.
