I had a weird thing happen the other day. I was changing a pop-up assembly- I removed the trap, unscrewed the pop-up and all of a sudden a Cuban Tree Frog jumps out from inside the pop-up. Pretty funny! They are about the size of a large toad.

my daughter had a green tree frog in her pop up at her moms house. It was in there for about 3 weeks face up. Getting toothpaste and whatever else spit in its face. Her lav was draining slow and asked me to look at it. It took me a week or so to get there. It was still alive when I pulled it out.

In all my years of clearing lines I have never found an animal of any kind in drain other than roaches and sewer flies. Now that I said that I probably find a dead moose in my next sewer call.

That has to be the best popup story I have ever heard. any guesses on how it got in there?
If you're talking about mine, I'm guessing it was on the roof and jumped on the vent and went down or maybe chased a bug down the vent. Then I figured he just climbed around until he couldn't go anymore. If it weren't for the pop up rod he probably could have climbed out.

I come across birds in the 2" sink lines. They make a nest on the sink line vent, and when someone fills the sink wham they get sucked down the pipe. Also had skunks in the window well drains.. That was not fun.

First time I came across this was at an apartment complex. Rodded the drain with my k-50 and the 5/8 sectional cable. Had the 1 /1/4 round cutter on it went in about 4 feet and could not get past this one spot. I pulled out and found a birds foot stuck in the cutter. Took the cutter off and put on the straight auger hand fed the cable in the line till I hit what felt like a soft blockage. Tapped the handle to spin the cable for a second or two, then pulled back with the rest of the poor bird stuck to the auger.

I had to jet a possum out of a 4" cast iron drain once. Not fun.

A friend of mine had to drown a kitten that had fallen down a vent stack once, and then cable the body out. I couldn't have done it. I love cats.....The jack hammer would have come off the truck if I was there.
