I've been watching this closely. I'm not in an affected state and my two kids are in two states that are just beginning to see infections. However, one kid goes to one of the best colleges for infectious diseases and public health (one of their public health professors has been commandeered by WHO for months already working on this) and they will likely be shutting down in person classes soon. That makes me think it may be as serious as they say and there is a lot we don't know. Anyhow - from a work point of view we have 7 families to feed here. All the technicians and relatively young and healthy so we aren't pivoting on anything yet. If SHTF I'm ready to retire anyhow lol! I've was very minimally prepped before I got word that the college kids might be coming home earlier than expected - now I'm happy to have a trunk full of TP.

Today for the first time since 1932, when it first started,
the Houston Livestock and Rodeo has shut down early,
at request of Houston City and Harris County Health Dept's :sad2:

First two in Michigan. Governor called a state emergency. I’ve been to Okinawa and that seemed like a healthy society. I’ve been to the Philippines. Dirty nasty place. No idea about their healthcare system. China... does there government really give a flying F about the health of the citizens? What about the Middle East?

We are going to have deaths. We have many elderly, very young, immune issues.... The hardest hit will be California where people sh!t in the streets, needles everywhere, and NYC. Both are examples of poor governing. For Michigan it will be Detroit followed by flint.

I still don’t see anything different than bird, swine...

We have plenty of toilet paper in stores around here, plenty of everything. With all this major run on the stupid stuff elsewhere, I find it odd that gas dropped from almost $3 per gallon to $1.89.

That’s the one thing that has my interest peeked economic wise.

120000 infected and 4000 dead is a much higher mortality rate than flu. So ok a bit scary when it's also more easily transmitted than the flu.

Remember now, that we are not in the times if the black death. People are not starving and **** is not running down the streets. This could maybe have been as bad as that but luckily it's not.

I took think it's a bit blown out of porposion but I'm afraid it will get much worse than this.

In Denmark where I'm originally from they announced that all schools and educational institutions will be closed for 14 days and that all non essential government employees will stay home from Friday on for 14 days and they reccomend that the private sector do their best to do the same.

Funny enough trump just announced that also from friday and fir 30 days all travel from Europe is closed. Seems to me to be an internationally organized attempt to slow it down and gain some time.

I would not be surprised if this is nature's way of adjusting the overpopulation a little buy not exactly the end of the world. This will mess more with the long term economy than actual deathtoll.

It's because saudi arabia is pissed at russia so they are over producing to drive the price down and say phuck you to them.

Also, with the virus scare people aren't traveling as much further driving down the price.

the media can make a dog taking a dump, world news if they hype it enough and add in there amount of taking out of content..
as far as mortality rate, you need to know the total amount of people infected and they dont, so again its a guess and the " WHO" is another bloated organization like the UN and we all know how corrupt and money grabbing anti American they are, so I dont put much credit in what the WHO states...and the numbers of sick and dead are still far far away from the flu that already KILLED 20,000+ this year just in the USA alone....
its come down to a game of chicken, they claim pandemic now to see if they can control and make every country come to their knees to follow suit of what other countries have caved in for..
like last man standing up against the BS...
think what you want I still say bull schit....and in a few months when it goes away the WHO will claim its because they made everyone take measures even though it worked through its cycle on its own...
how about ALL the other diseases like ebola, zika and the list is as long as my arm, they all got the same media coverage for an agenda, then overnight it was out of the media ..
also most if not all of these outbreaks were on election years.....hmmm

Here’s a thought. Let’s say the worst happens and people run out of toilet paper. Next used will be Kleenex down the drain. After that, paper towel.

I think $1200 for a main line will be a good starting price! After all, I’d be taking a risk of my own health.
I heard that on the news people who were lining up for toilet paper WTF??? Toilet paper is useless if we don't have food in supermarkets.

And on the news...The provincial government said all events of 250 people or more have to be canceled so that means all sports leagues including the Candian National Hockey have shut down, they have started to shut down one school and many more things are canceled. I guess bars will be closed but hey the casino and the mall are still open for business.

So what will happen in supermarkets if you can't have more than 250 people at a time, a line up? That mean someone crazy enough will eventually bring some guns.

All travelers are to be quarantined 14 days upon arrival. Even the Prime minister is now under quarantine!

I know a 3rd post, a chinese woman had the bright idea to sell sample sized hand sanitizer in her corner store from commercial stuff and several people got chemical burns. She'll be spending some time in jail...
