Why obsess about what some other company is charging? Making threads about low prices, and actually including the prices is the worst thing we could do for the trade.

By distributing their content on a public forum you're significantly increasing their exposure. You should really think about how the internet works.

Not to mention this site has a 10-1 guest to member ratio.

I'm just saying they used that price a lot. I reckon there are a lot of people who just have nothing to add to this cesspool of plumbing wit and wisdom.

I think he means a House trap. I never saw one being from Chicago, but It's hear these guys gripe about them. See I thought it was for when your house is on a big hill with other homes
And the force of your neighbors sewerage (above your home) could suck the traps dry in homes below. Am I even close?

Around here we have them on older homes that have no traps on the floor drains

sorry if post offended

never meant to offend any plumber nor destroy trade as claimed here. Just thought it was useful info - I don't believe that publishing prices on a website is they way to go and was just looking for opinions and comments sorry again.

The basic function of a trap is to prevent the flow of sewer gases into your home...

A house traps function is basically the same...
However, it is a leftover remnant from the days where every fixture was not trapped, and while smelling your own shoit was less objectionable than smelling the entire neighborhood's shiot...

Today under modern codes the requirement of having a housetrap has been eliminated with every fixture being trapped.

However, there still may be a useful function in high density housing areas where a large number of buildings venting the city sewer through the roofs may lead to an objectionable odor outside in the area...

Some places still require them even on new construction...

He advertises stupid low prices at the top, but read the bottom of the ad where he has machine charges, service charges additional charges....suddenly he went from cheep to expensive in a matter of fine print.
