A former master was in a couple BNI groups. One is not the same as another. Good idea if it’s a good group. I hated having to attend the meetings, but I still use the graphics guy for my business cards and invoices. I’m still a old school paper kind of guy. It can be a good tool for some starting out or someone looking to expand and hire a crew, if they want that headache. In our area (Phoenix), small networking groups such as bni have been extremely successful for plumbers and other contractors. They meet weekly for breakfast to network and pass leads. The plumber in my group got many leads. There is usually 1 realtor, 1 GC/remodeler, 1 accountant, 1 lender, 1 of each specialty, 1 chiropractor, 1 moving company, etc. Are you commercial, residential, or both?
