I own a fairly large (2 Mil) commercial and residential plumbing company and I was wondering what your experiences were with accounting softwares.

I've been using Quickbooks for a long long time but we feel as if we've outgrown it. Were looking at Timberline and Jonas currently and are leaning towards Jonas.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these???

We use Quickbooks and it does everything we need. We used to do 2mil also. Our CPA uses it so doing taxes is a breeze.

I tried to use Master Builder http://findaccountingsoftware.com/directory/sage/master-builder/ one year. It integrates your estimates into your accounting and is networkable. Came with online training and support. Too much data entry on the estimating side so I gave it up.

Accounting software

Hi N64Plumber,

I don't know the softwares which you've mentioned.

For what it worths, my experience is with Tiolive . Actually, my company has outgrown like yours. But the advantage for us is that we didn't need to change solution. Tiolive can be adapted to any company whatever its size. It has grown up with us.

accounting

We are about the same size company. We have been using peachtree and now changing over to quickbooks. Peachtree was even difficult for our accounts to use, not very user friendly.
Switching over to quickbooks becuase all our info can be transferred easly. Go with what your accountants like.

Succesware 21. There is no other that can do what it does for the contracting industry.
Pricy even for members...and complex.....a must for bigger businesses though..IMO
I didnt buy it. They recommended not necessary for companies under 1 million. Is it still that way?

They say 500k now so long as your financials are in order. But they also have a different version for smaller shops they will eventually release.
