Anybody try Contractor Independence Marketing or any marketing firm?

How many hours of your time is 1500$? Maybe it would be better to spend a few hours at a social event and introduce yourself. Word of mouth is the best advertisement AND you could essentially pick the group of people who will be your customers.

If its anything like home advisor, then its gonna be a scam and the same water heater will go
out to 6 other plumbers in your area all calling the customer within 5 minutes of when the filed for
a estimate.... after two or three calls the customer gets spoofed and wont pick up the phone again...

I would certainly not give them your credit card number..... pay by the month only no contracts...

The power of decades in the business is hard to beat. Word of mouth, referrals, repeat customers, all are way better. Of all the ways of quick money, home advisor and Google ad words are the best.

Decided that I only will target a 5 mile radius around my house. So absent listening to their sales pitch- my plan would be to do flyers just like pc plumber wrote about and supplied the numbers.

I been there done that--while searching for businesses in Hawaii in '06 on Bizquest---I found a ad that read something like this...."Be on the golf course by noon daily and net 100k per year!...Lawn service company with resedential and few commercial accounts...1 part time employee...owner works 6 days 4 hours a day.....close to home...17 year old route built up never to travel more that 5 miles allowing no wasted drive time or wear rear on trucks etc..."

You are pretty much 100% correct about this....
if you just answer the damn phone or call them back within 5 minutes
99% of the time you will get the job if there is one to be had.....

if you act like you are too dam good to call them back quickly
the job will probably be long gone in 2 hours from now...
All my calls come through my cell phone....
