So i bought a couple of the Penn Slammer IV reels this spring, a 5500, a 4500, and a 3500. They're worth the coin. Real nice product. Their new Carnage rods are sweet too. The key to the issue is in the bottom of the sock drawer, left side near the back.

Those are some nice looking reels, ive been an auto reel guy for mostly trout fishing most of my life and just bought my first baitcaster at walmart to see if i like it, i like it better than the pinners but its definitely tricky to keep the line from wadding up on you.

I’m not a fan of bait casters for the reason you mentioned above. Fresh water guys seem to like them. My go to rod when I’m down at my dock or on the 50.00 boat is a Penn spin fisher IV 2500. The little guy. It’s caught a lot of bass and hundreds of Pinfish. It’s fun fighting larger fish on a small reel with a light action rod.

Most of the guys on these threads are chasing the allusive North American toilet trout. They’re worth quite a bit of money when you catch one. Hahaha
The rest are after brown trout.

Sewer mice out my way.
I call them "Femi-9 Hygiene Products". Saying it that way invokes Sir Cliff Richard, conjuring the mental image of a "Devil Woman" as it were.
