Default Lessons to be learned from this story

Lessons to be learned from this story.

Most importantly is to listen to their story on the phone and learn if it's a problem job or problem non paying customer. Be attentive and ask questions.

Tell your rate on the phone and minimum charge.

Have them sign your work order agreeing to pay. I do this before every time before I go out and get my tools!

Minimum 1 hour charge plus service call. When I know it might be an easy fix I tell them minimum charge is this much. Then I ask do you still want an appointment?

I also implemented a second signature when the job is done even if I unclog a toilet and it takes 5 minutes.

Payment has to be paid on the spot.

He acts like he's the first guy who ever got stiffed in the history of the world. It sucks to be sure, but be that as it may, what is annoying as hell is that he takes so long to get to the effing point. It could have been a 5 minute video.

His response was pretty good.
