Default First things first

I have browsed these forums for a while so I know my first step needs to be posting an introduction! I have been the office manager for a plumbing and heating company for about 10 years now. Rewarding and challenging work all at the same time. I wear a lot of hats and hope to learn a lot here!

@Debo22 PC at work, iphone everywhere else. When I looked at converting to Macs for the office I found the Quickbooks we use is a very different product on Mac's. Same with the online version - inadequate reporting features that we use a lot.

nothing personal towards you, but this is a forum for licensed plumbers, so are you licensed? are you active in the plumbing field( do you go out and do plumbing work?) as far as my office staff, dont have any, but how much paid time do you spend online on forums or shopping? do you think that your boss would approve of that time? what do you hope to gain or give on this forum? all asked in a respectful manor....
and ill just add before you go there, it has nothing todo with what gender you are, none at all...if you can do the work well then it doesnt matter who or what you are...

More on me, since @ShtRnsdownhill prefers proper intros. I am 44 year old woman working for a plumbing and heating company for 10 years. I am the office manager/dispatcher/AR/AP/Payroll/Marketing/Sales and complaint department. Prior to this I taught computer classes at the local Technical college and prior to that I worked as an Executive Secretary for a window company. I have a BA in Public Relations and minor in business law and technical editing. Business law, like plumbing, is best left to the professionals so that doesn't get used often, however the public relations and technical editing have come in handy. We have 5 trucks on the road. One of our HVAC brand has a very dynamic culture and hosts industry events 2 - 3 times a year with networking and lots of education for owners and managers. I have learned and shared quite a bit from that group and am looking for the plumbing equivalent.
brass plumbing, GAN and Gargalaxy like this.
