Default Pipe lining

I have some questions for the guys who do lining. Can you line vertical pipe? Is cured in place or sprayed in better? We have an approximately 60' vertical run of 4" sch 40 steel pipe that needs dealt with. It is an exhaust for a laboratory vacuum pump. Pipe is scaling badly on the inside. Scale falls off and plugs line, causing damage to our very expensive pumps. Should have been copper, stainless, or plastic. Remove and replace is not a good option as the pipe chase is only accessible on top and bottom.
