I still owe them about 175 dollars which I refuse to pay them, and they are pissed that I cancelled the credit card on file so they just could not charge me .....

home Advisor must be having HUGE problems finding suckers to sign up with them lately because they came back to me recently and begged me to come back on with them.... They promised to forgive the bogus bill and of course they lied through their teeth about how many people they send the same lead out to ........

. I told them to go have sex with themselves......

ok, I took the bait but have spat it back out......

Do not believe anything Home adviser(service magic) tells you. I used them in 2005 or 2006 for a few months. If you are desperate for work, you might get a couple of calls, but you might pay more for leads than the calls are worth. And they lie about how many contractors get each lead

They tried to reach out to me a week or two ago by pretending to be a customer on my answering machine.

Remember that home advisor used to be called service majic.... and they got such a bad reputation they morphed into HO.........

the same story is probably going on now and my guess will be they will come up with a new name soon.... its the only way they will get contractors to sign on .....

They are owned by Google so some new "dog and pony show" ie scam will probably be unveiled with Google backing them up... but they will still lie and play the same game ....they cant help themselves..

I have been with HomeAdvisor for about 4 years now.

I don't use them full time for my advertising, I have many regular customers and referrals, so I only turn it on when I have a slow day.

Like today for example, don't have a full calendar this week and thought I'd turn it on and see what happens.

So starting this morning got 12 leads. Of these 12 I actually talked to 7, that's 58.3%, and scheduled 4, thats 33.3%
2 I did today
1 scheduled for tomorrow and 1 Wednesday.

Total cost of leads today $389.28.
So far grossed $575.00 repairs from the 2 jobs I did today.
Gross profit from HA today $575.00-389.28=$185.72.

Not great.

However the 2 jobs scheduled ahead are bigger jobs, several repairs at one job and change out a water heater at another.

We will see what the numbers look like after that.

Like MasterMark, I am I bit disgruntled with HA, but it doesn't do bad sometimes. Been using it now until I can figure out something better to do.

I have asked the question to those that badmouth HA ok, got anything better? What is it? Don't seem to get a straight answer.

I have read posts on this site that liken Homeadvisor to a pimp, but then wouldn't all advertising sources be pimps?

And to those that are saying that HA directs people from your website to theirs, how is that possible? Couldn't any of your competion direct your customers to theirs? Why couldn't I direct their customers to me?

Now If the goog owns HA then I can see how this is possible.
