Picking your fruit and vegetables, roofing your house, cleaning your house
and working at jobs you wouldn't do or pay for at a livable wage.
There is little hope for a decent future in Mexico just like your ancestors
had before they came to America.

But back to fishing.
This would be a great way to ocean fish from shore.
I'm going to try this here before my next trip out of the country.

Best shore fishing story I heard- my brother-in-law was fly fishing, on his back cast he feels a snag that busts his fly off, he looks behind him and sees a guy screaming with the fly caught on his back. The guys wife starts smacking and trying to kill the "bug" that's hurting her husband, he starts screaming more. Brother-in-law walks down the beach like nothing happened.

I don't know, seems presumptive of you. My mom is huge into genealogy and some of my ancestors were pretty wealthy. The family name has a coat of arms and can be traced back slightly over a 1000 years. A several hundred year old mansion named with our family name still exists. A knight here, married into royalty there, lots of hope for a decent future seems to have existed for my ancestors.
The ones that immigrated here must have eloped or something as no money seems to have followed them.

Same here, rumor has it that I'm from English Royalty. Just part of the story
but I do know that some of my family fought in the American Revolution and there is a biography of one of my uncles of the time.

On the other hand my Mothers family were poor folks from Ireland who escaped the potato famine. Most families have lots of branches.

But I wanted to talk about fishing.
Minnesota has over 10,000 lakes and some really great rivers with wonderful fishing, but once I was out deep sea fishing I was hooked.

I've had 300# tuna on, like trying to stop a freight train.
Sail fish, Dorado and a host of other species.

Best part is some of these fish fight back.
Had a Dorado swim up and smack my hand,
a sail fish jump over the bow of the boat that could have stuck someone and Marlin bite the back half off of fish you had on the line.

Never had much luck shore fishing but things may change.
