We been getting some Indian guy with a spoofed phone number in the caller id telling us he is updating his database for an online directory. One of the spoofed numbers was a real one of a local roofing contractor. What they do is ask you a bunch of yes and no questions, and place your recorded voice to different questions that they use to authorize themselves to charge some crap to your phone bill. I just tell them "I cannot answer any questions on the phone."

That is a major pet peeve of mine. I am always getting those calls and being a 1 man shop my phone is forwarded to my cell. There is nothing worse that stopping to answer the phone to have some overfriendly yahoo start asking me questions. the worst part is I have to listen because a couple of times I hung up on real customers thinking they were salespeople Not very good for business

UUURRGGHH! You had to bring up sawzall blade salesman.
What I crack up at is, when you answer he say,"hey, how are you doing, you are a hard person to get ahold of, you know it."
DUDE you have called me for 2 months, how can I be hard to get ahold of? I tell him I have everything I need and I gotta go. CLICK!

In Christ,

Song Dog

Those are the three we get ALL the time. 9PM during the week, Sunday at 11AM. We see those we don't even answer them.

I've been paying attention to the google voice thread for this very reason.

We had the Indian guy yesterday, said he was updating easyyellowpages.com and that they work for Google. The site isn't worth checking out, save yourself the click. He will be calling back today to "confirm" our information.

Glad I saw this post, there won't be any 'yes' or 'no' answers. Submit it via U.S. mail and I'll respond.
