The media will call your quad a drone.

Did you look at the dji phantoms? I'm curious because I want to buy a drone. I like both but am leaning towards the dji 2+.

So you are looking at either a Nano QX or a dji phantom 2 vision+? Those are basically two different quads. Worlds apart in size, price and what they are really for IMO.

Are you wanting to take video? Are you just wanting to fly something around and have fun? Have you flown anything before? Any other RC experience?

Be ready to become addicted to this hobby, especially if you have an itch to fly. I've amassed these within the last year. Been thinking about a mid size quad and maybe a rtf plane, probably getting a plane next.

Oh yeah, call it a quad copter, or if you go bigger a hexacopter, etc. To most, drone has a negative connotation. Most think invasion of privacy, or something military related. I know technically any unmanned aerial vehicle is considered a drone.

I agree with chonkie. Nano QX is something I can fly inside year around so I can keep practicing my stick control. If your just getting into quadcopters try something small. The reason I say that, is because of parts it doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Also if you do crash most of the time you just have to pick them up they'll fly again. My 450x first time I crashed was a 250 dollar mistake. Good luck and they are very addicting.

Very little experience. Sounds like I will be paying for my education. Haha. I have only purchased a couple of inexpensive quads to get the feel. I am referred to as a camcorder dad at my sons school. I make highlight films for the kids. I want to get a quad for fun and to get different angles of the action.

Really like to GPS features and it looks simple to fly. I am only basing that on the endless YouTube videos I have watched.
