Default Jury Duty

I am so sick of getting these. I get at least one a year.

I've had to sit through a trial twice. Both were really big cases locally 2 weeks long. One was an officer involved stabbing outside of a bar, and the other one was theft at our local CHP evidence room.

I had to take 2 weeks unpaid from work right before christmas on both of those. That friggin sucked. Now i'm in a situation where I cannot afford to turn away work if the phone rings.

I got another one right before Christmas this year and I almost cried, but it was cancelled. So now i've got another one less than 2 months later.

There are 30,000 people in this county. How is this even possible?

dont go, I dont..never heard of a juror being arrested or fined for not doing jury duty...if you must go bring 5 young kids from your neighbors and friends and say you babysit for a living and cant afford jury duty..

I’ve been summoned twice. Once was late in my senior year of high school, had to go and obviously wasn’t chosen. The second one was when we were deploying to either WTI or CAX and my commanding officer got me out of it.

Edit, got distracted.... my wife got summoned a few years back, she checked the “hardship” box to get out of it. IIRC it was during tax season.

There are several ways to say you can't go, I would look online for reasons that are plausible.
Then I would contact the court and say to them he's already guilty or innocent if he's a really bad guy take your pick. They may kick you off. You can also say you fear for your life because you know him or whatever.

Also since they send a letter in the mail without you signing it they can't prove you didn't get it. I'll never go waste my time again from the subpoena I got.

Slightly off topic....

I have a court date on the 15th with my Master. We did a rough/final for a new location of a small coffee shop the summer before last and haven’t been paid yet. It’ll probably be negotiated in the hallway, but my Master is going to refuse and ask for court costs.

The odd thing is she had been a long time customer, even worked on her house. Never Johnny on the spot with payment, but always within a month.

I have gone once when I was very young and I think the hot clerk was hitting on me or just trying to lure me into serving jury duty with the hope of dating her..... I got out of that and never looked back...

.I suggest that if you have to go to be chosen for some criminal trial,
you should just be wearing a MAGA hat on your head
and that will probably get you checked off real fast.....

make america great......... they cost 5 bucks on Amazon

That seems like a lots of jury duty requests. Awesome responsibility though. I pay all employees a full 8 hr day for every day at jury duty.
