Ah, remember the non existence of any saftey equipment while skateboarding or riding your bike everywhere. Then having cool scars as a result.

My skull is kind of squared off on the back right side due to my friends and I jumping our bikes. Mine was a Diamondback, buddy had a Mongoose. Don't remember the others, probably Huffy. We did it in the street, one time I didn't land properly, that's all I remember until being in the hospital. Makes me wish we had cell phones then.

Metal lawn dart wars! Toss them up and your buddy had to dodge it. Looking back... probably not a good idea.

One summer we found a moped, don’t remember how we got it, but one of the handle bars was broken. As always we would check all the trash cans for returnable cans, took a few days but we got enough to pay a local mechanic to weld the handle bar. We got it running on our own, and would take turns doing jumps, burnouts...

I don’t remember what happened to it, but that was a fun summer!

Do you remember block parties? When I was a kid in the 1970's, we would visit my relatives in Brooklyn, Borough Park to be exact. They'd close off the block, and we used to have block parties. I don't know if they even have these anymore.

Remember finding your dad's dirty magazines? My dad preferred Hustler because Playboy wasn't dirty enough.
