Default I知 so old that when I was a kid...

Things kids today don’t get to do or understand that we got to experience.

Please, only one example per post!

When I was in public high school we had a marksmanship club and fired live rounds, and participated in competitions. My kid goes to private school and he’s lucky enough to have an archery club.

Growing up with 6 kids living on the same street, we used to play what we called man hunt. Basically hide and go seek x10. Two would be the hunted and 4 would be hunters. 2 on foot, the 4 on bikes. We used the entire neighborhood, pretty big one at that. Also went out to a church and a Calloway nursery as the far boundaries on the edge of the neighborhood, many blocks away. Would stay out until the street light came on, that was the cue to get yer a$$ home asap.

We’d use the pay phone outside a local store after they closed to make prank phone calls to random local numbers.

Edit: This was before caller ID, so some would always answer....

We just used the corded home phone for that ... as long as someone else wasn't using it or expecting a call.

Are collect calls still around? Remember the workaround for those? Call comeone and instead of saying your name you'd tell the person to pick you up or whatever, so then they could decline the charges but still know what's up.

That's taking it back farther than the wiffle ball and bat that we used in the 80s.

4 years old, riding in the back of the station wagon with the back window down or in the back of a pickup. No seat or restraints.

Though I did see someone in the back of a pickup the other day....
