Thread bump.

Speaking of vacation, kind of on one now. Sis is in town so took the niece and nephew to the range. Also took the nephew to Windstar in OK for his first gambling experience. Played blackjack for a few hours, he ended up losing only $10 while I ended up $100 lighter.

I got into shooting little around 4 years back when I first got invited to go deer hunting.

I bought a 308win for hunting and in the next 2 years I bought a 22LR rifle a 223rem and a 20gauge shotgun. Last year I think I only ended up at the range 1 time.

It's a shame I don't get more time for such fun. With a wife and 3 kids (9, 3, 4months) and an old house I just don't seem.To find the time for it.

I only have basic cheap rifles but would love to get something nicer someday but for now I'm afraid I just don't have the time or money.

I hope the rest of you guys get lots of fun time at the range this summer.

Guns are like potato chips. You can’t have just one.

No pictures, but I introduced my kid to the AR and M&P Shield 9mm. AR was way too big, but he had fun.

In due time you'll be able to have your fun. Has the 9yr old show any interest in hunting/shooting? Would be a good reason to get to the range a few more times a year.

Even without the constraints of a wife and kids, I find it hard sometimes to gather the energy to tote all my stuff to the range, of course I probably take too much stuff. Add in Tx summers and since I like a particular outdoor range that is open at odd hours, I don't go as often as I would like. Thought about going today but they are only open from 1 to 5, right at the peak of the heat. I've only been 3 times this year including this last trip.

Been tempted to set up a "range" in the house for some crossbow practice.

No my 9 year old has no interest in such things and I doubt she ever will. My 2 younger boys will very likely enjoy it when they get old enough.

My range is only a mile away and is open at all times except for in deer rifle season about 2 weeks. Come and go as you please just nothing after dark.

The range is just 4 back stops 25',100',200' and 300' with concrete benches. There are normally between no one else and 2-3 guys. Costs about $25 a year.

With that I still don't get time for it. I either take care of the house chores and projects or the family or simply sit down doing nothing at home when I get the chance. I'm also on call at work every third week. Had 5.5 hours yesterday and 4 hours work this morning.

I do enjoy old military rifles. Iíve bought and sold all kinds from a small number of countries. Probably my favorite has been my M44 dated 1943 all matching numbers. I canít remember how many of those prototypes were made, 200k tops.

Anyhow, I wouldnít mind finding one of these for rabbit season....
