Can I safely view the eclipse through 13 shade lens?

Mrs. OpenSights believes it's 14. We missed out on glasses. I'm going to sneak a peek with my revision glasses. I have my alarm set for 2:20, ten minutes before peek here. Wish I could be with my kid, but some stupid dentist office needs three new rooms up and running. Selfish pricks.

Kid has a half day, child care won't let the kids out during. As luck would have it, kinda, Master is sick. I have one I can do, so I might be able to pick him up.

If it works out, I'll stop by harbor freight and pickup some welding goggles. Great idea!

I stopped by harbor freight. All the $6 goggles were gone, and their $45 helmet had a range of 9 to 13. Mrs OpenSights looked it up and 14 is the minimum. I plan on facing away from the sun and reverse the camera on my tablet. She said even doing this you don't want to look too long, I don't get it. One hour till I pick up my kid.

I wish I could get off early today, just to many reasons I have to stay on the job. Plus, Charlotte's a bankers town and traffic could be a major nightmare.

It's getting dimmer, but the patchy clouds are helping.
