Hope recovery is going well! You don’t post much anyway, but haven’t seen you in awhile...

Starting to use the brewsmith app... kegging it after Easter dinner tonight and force carbing tonight for the competition. For my first batch I eyeballed down to 5 gallons. With BeerSmith I should be able to calculate the recipe exactly.

This is my first attempt at brewsmith adding your cream ale, let me if it looks right.
Looks right for the 10 gal. batch. Just use Beersmith to scale the recipe and your good to go.

Please let me know how these numbers look to you look to you based on BeerSmith timer. I haven’t updated my water profile. For some reason I can’t change it to ro water.

Some of the measurements, mash time and temp seem off to me. Maybe I brewed it wrong? IIRC, I mashed and sparged at 157f for 60 minutes.... BeerSmith is saying something was different if I’m understanding right.

Edit, BTW, this is still the 10 gallon batch. I found a deal on Craigslist. $220 for everything! https://grandrapids.craigslist.org/h...851057375.html

He’s going to meet me halfway. The keggle time/material alone is worth it!

Don’t tell my wife! I think I can blend everything in. The tun will be hard though....

Your mash temp was a little high and sparge was low, it should still come out alright. Was your OG low? I'd mash at 152-154 for an hour then sparge at 168.

I'm into brewing gear way deeper than $220. The wife has never complained. I'm even worse with hifi gear.

OG was low. Going to keg tomorrow, Iíve said that before, but the wife is out of town this weekend so itís on. All I need to do is feed the kid, laundry and dishes. NO WORK! Iíll check FG and post it. Keg is soaking in PBW over night, been sometime since it was used....

I finally figured out how to force carb correctly so not worried about comp deadline. Carbíd a 1 1/2 y/o cider Tuesday and came out perfect today.

How are you doing? Healing up ok?

Hopefully it turns out good for you.

I think I'm healing up alright. I'll find out for sure when I see my surgeon in a little more than a week. I won't be able to do any actual work for at least another month. My apprentice is back from school as of this week and I am all good to point and yell.
