I agree 100%, most of the world HATES Americans, I have many friends of other ethnicity than your average American that have family around the world and when they travel most places do not like Americans..only the money spent but not the people...the People that come to America are either looking for the freebies or looking to work hard and make $$$..

In my case I fell in love with my wife from the Connecticut/New York area. She moved over to Denmark to live with me and we got married a month later. My wife did not speak danish and had her reasons why she ended up getting homesick. Because she got homesick I told her that since I spoke English just fine and am good at adjusting to new places we should move over to the USA so she could be happy. So we moved to Connecticut where she is from and later ended up in north west MN.

I never even had any wish to go on vacation in the USA or anything but life and being a good husband took me over here. I found that the USA and Denmark for me is equals but in different ways. There are many things I like more in USA than Denmark and vise versa.

When making up our minds on how we like a place or not or compare it to another place we make a list of a thousand little things and then sum of those determine the outcome on how we like a place.

There are only a few big things on the list of what to like or not about a place and this "we are the best at everything" mentality is on of those few that are on my don't like list. Now in Denmark there is this cultural "Jante law" thing basically saying that you should not think you are better than anyone else. This is a complete opposite of the USA "I'm better" mentality so that probably affects my opinions on this matter. I actually prefer a middle way between the two. This is why I have the "I'm better mentality" on my do not like list. This is also why I in other ways like this mentality.

I know some might hate USA like you say but I don't think you are right that most hate USA. Most just dislike that attitude from Americans but not hate.

No. We were actually both trying to find pen pals to write with around the world on an online site. I did not have America listed as a place I was interested in and she did not have Scandinavia listed as a place of interest. It just so happened that we had the same favorite book listed on our profiles so I guess they suggested me to my wife and she sent me a message. We ended up writing together and then being on Skype all the time and we decided to come visit each other. She came to visit me first and then I came to visit her later and we had fallen in love so I ended up asking her to marry me. Like I said she move over to me and later we moved over to USA. I always joke about it because of the whole internet thing and say I don't know if it is her being a mail order bride or me being a mail order groom

ok maybe hate for most is overstated, but many do hate, the rest could have a distaste for Americans....why??I couldnt say for sure....as I would ask till you met an American in person, how would one tell what they are about except for the media and if you judge on the stupid reality tv crap , well then you have a good reason..LOL..
I think the politicians that dabble into other countries does have an impact, but if your country is taking tons of $$$ from the USA because you cant support your own country , then you should be told how and when to spend MY money you get for free, so that may be a big reason..
but for the most part honestly..I DONT CARE what some other country or its people think, it doesnt effect my daily life and I have no plans on leaving this country to even visit another..

Schitt, I was born and raised here, and I dislike most Americans; chronic deadbeats on welfare, most anyone in the media, anyone who doesn't know how to either hunt or grow his own food, most politicians, all lefties, most Democrats, religious and patriotic fanatics, immigrants who want to impose their culture on us, unwed mothers who don't provide a stable, 2 parent home. That leaves me and one other guy, and he hasn't talked to me lately.

It's great to be proud and confident, but to put it into perspective, who likes a plumbing company who goes around saying that they are the best there ever was, no one compares to them, etc. We all know there is not a plumbing company out there who has not made a mistake, hired at least one serious loser employee, etc. Why should a country be any more perfect?

Well frankly I don't give a skit(h) what they think about us. I've traveled to many foreign countries and never any issue. I tip well and have enough income to travel well so don't run into problems internationally.

If you want to come here then you're in my stomping grounds, all bets are off.
