Default Bid

Request input. First house I'm doing. It's for a close friend so I'm doing it T+M. However, for my own practice I did a material list and worked up what I felt would be my official bid.

Specifics. 3000sq ft 2 story 30'x50' on a full basement. 3 and half bath (powder room down stairs). Master has SH and drop in tub. Kids Baths are across the hall from one another and should be in same joist bay. All 3 baths are at one end or the house. Basic shower. All 3 LAVs are double bowled.

First floor. Simple powder room (WC and LAV). Kitchen as at oppisite end of house.

This is what came up with. 18 (ejector pit in the basement) trapped fixtures at $600 each = $10800 + an even $1000 for gas pipe (labor and material).

My breakdown for material
Copper $1000
PVC $600
Sewage pit and pump $350
Sump pump $150

I figure material at 2700-3000.

HO supplies fixtures. I'd give a bid of 11,800 on this job Labor and material. Not trying to show anyones hand just trying to understand this process better. Thank you in advance.

Sewer ejector pump and pit and the sump pump and pit look kind of low to me, But I haven't price these items in a while. Apparently you have no mark up whatsoever on these materials. Close friend or not I would still do some mark up on them. Just my opinion.

So, there is only one gas fired appliance that you will be running gas to?

Your plumbing price seems to be okay..... but I would charge a lot more for the gas work...... I use to charge $ 5.00/ft on 1/2"....$ 7.50 on 3/4"/ft....$ 10.00 on 1"/ft and so on..... using steel pipe..... now all we use is gastite... so our gas pipe prices are higher

Seems low all around.
I dunno, you know your costs there better'n I do but it does seem a bit low. Low like break even on the labour. If it were in my area then I'd be at least 15% higher.
