Yea, it's a pretty lightweight little buggy.

For some time now I've been searching for a way to use a smaller, more fuel efficient vehicle for everyday use. Not only for the apparent economy but the outward appearance of "being green" and a responsible advocate of lessening the burden on the environment. (plays well to a public that seems more and more tuned into this way of thinking.)

But what a tough thing to do, even if used strictly for service/repair plumbing!!!
I've developed some techniques in loading and procedure that help but it still boils down to being a PITA to work out of a p1ss-pot little vehicle.

Still a work in progress.

I'd wait until they had a Super Duty version of the Transit.

If it were cheaper to buy, then maybe it would be viable. But the ones I saw were almost 24k. The sticker price of an E250 is about that.

Tint the windows and put a moose catcher on the front and it would look like Volkswagon going off to war.

Exclamation

I just got home from the Ford dealer as I had high hopes for this vehicle. These things are WAY too small. Only 4" between the wheel wells Put a safety cage in and there would be less than 5' in depth Guess I'll have to get a gas guzzler :///

It'll be a sweet little van for an owner who just does jobsite checks and estimates all day with the occasional service call.

No doubt...I had an uncle that was close to retirement...5 or 6 yrs away...and he bought a minivan to run around in and give estimates, run to the bank or the supply house. He kept faucet repair parts, toilet parts,faucets,traps...just a small assortment of repair items, bowl auger.....you know stuff for an easy repair. Worked great for him and was cheap on the gas. This was in the Mid 90's and it got alot of attention because it was ODD so it was good advertisement too.

Thats exactly what I mean. You could get a nice wrap on it and it would be a perfect little rolling billboard. like you said have the stuff for little jobs on there maybe one of those ridgid microdrains and you're set

I was over in Germany I believe it was in 2004 when I took some photos of plumbing trucks. 2 are small like most of their trucks are. The one looks to be 1/2 way between a van and a Sprinter it's an OPAL

Thought this topic derserved these.
