I love you people. The ones I argue with (you know who you are) I love even more because they teach me the most. It that too mushy?

I have a few role models on this forum. There are a few characters here that I "summon" when I am in a certain situation.
Here is just one example: A difficult customer calls and is giving me a hard time about something. I am not sure how to handle it, and I then I think, "What would Dunbar do?" That usually puts a grin on my face and I summon up the courage to tell the person that I am not interested in working under these difficult terms, goodbye!

I am a self-employed licensed plumber, so naturally like most of us, I have a huge ego! ...but I am aware of that and I try to "tame" it as much as I can. You guys have no idea how Much I bite my tongue in the political discussions, I try to avoid those because things can get ugly quick on the internet!

I've learned from you wonderful folks that the why is every bit as important as the what.

I have to agree, most plumbers don't like being wrong. I felt real bad the other day while finishing a house, an experianced plumber and new to working with me came into my bathroom and check my plumbing. I immediatly got defensive and snapped at him. If he was a dog his ears would have fallen backwards. His reply, I thought maybe I could come up with a diffrent solution...
Boy did I feel bad.
But he should have ask first.

I had a rough entry to tha PZ as I didn't post an intro and went right to exploiting my Restoration Co. referral program, remember? Easy Money in Nashville!!! Wrong thing to do. I have never seen the word spam mentioned so many times. I thought you guys were a bunch of D#%@$. Then I put myself in YAWS shoes. Completely understood. Since then I have felt very comfortable here. There is a wealth of knowledge in here. There are some really smart plumbers in tha PZ. Some Dumb'ns too. I appreciate being able to communicate with all of you and wish you all nothing but success. My Dad has plumbed for 43 yrs. now and he always told me to do something besides plmb. Its a hard job, he said. He was right. It takes a "Man" with a good back and a Great brain to succeed in this industry. Composite knees would help too. Thanks to ALL YAW !!! Keep it com'n.

Thank you for reading this thread.

We can all learn something here. The more that is posted in a considerate and professional manner, the more valuable the information is to all.

Drama can be interesting, but it certainly makes finding good information that much more difficult.

Most of us are wise enough to read both sides and make an informed decision. We really don't need to be clobbered over the head by someone who is intolerant and only believes there is one way to do it.
