Well said Plumb Crazy. My ego gets checked every time I read what some of these guys are doing. It is easy to think you have all the answers during the week while dealing with supply house personel or homeowners but then you get with the real pro's and you think man what have I been doing for the last 20+ years

Thanks for the "bump". I had not run across this thread before. Lots of wisdom here. It has been my own personal experience that ego can serve a purpose, but it is a tool that must be used sparingly and with great care. If you show a huge ego, don't ever be proven wrong. Your credibility will drop a lot lower than someone to be known as humble.

Exactly Regulator! Some say a huge ego is just masked insecurity.

being in this trade for many years (34) I have become closed minded and set in my ways. Since coming to pz i have learned many things not only about plumbing but about people.
I have learned even a 1 yr apprentice can teach something.
I have learned that women contribute alot in the trade not only in the field (christina) but also in the office (plumbcrazy)
I have learned that even tough old plumbers can get thier feelings hrt by friends (ron the plumber,The master)
I have learned that perserverance is the key never give up (unclognh)
I have learned that people can agree to disagree without retaliation(plumbcrazy al'S sewer)
I have learned that God is a major part of our lives.
I have learned that patriotism is alive and well even through the tough times we are going through at the moment.
I have learned that our pets are just as important to us as our wife and kids are (in some cases more).
I have learned that sometimes it is best to bite your tongue rather than say something.
I have learned that looking at a difficult situation with a little humor is better than stewing over it.
I have learned that if I need to smile I just have to come to pz and read a few post.(redwood roastduck)
I have learned how to watch how to word statement and comments so as not to upset anyone.
To close I will say that I have leraned that plumbers are a good lot and good people who care about how they treat thier customers and are really concerned about thier health and welfare. God bless you all and lets keep up the good work.

I have learned Al is the nicest person I've never met.
I have learned Al was plumbing when I was in diapers.
I have learned there's a lot of intelligent, prideful plumbers on this site, that make me feel dumb at times.
I have learned some of us can be a little to sensitive at times.
I have learned the pro's and con's of tankless water heaters.
I have learned that I wasn't always charging enough.
I have learned to appreciate my loyal customers more, never know when things could get slow.
I have learned TM believes women are better at cooking than men.
I have learned there could be more than one definition of "running a business".
I hav lernd frum sum of my poasts i dont alweys spel two wel.
I have learned Al loves his pets as much as I love mine.
I have learned in an emergency I can use a sharkbite, and still sleep at night.
I have learned that Dunbar, TM, and a few others will say what they feel and don't care what others think, I respect that.
I have learned just about everyone on this forum hates American Standard toilets except me.
I have learned if you post a picture of your work, it better be perfect.
I have learned in some parts of the country, copper doesn't hold up well.
I have learned some of you love plumbing so much, you would plumb with no financial incentive. I envy that.
I have learned if I don't stop writing this post and help my wife with the screaming baby, it could be a long night.

Often the problemwith forums is that we don't have the voice. Without that what we may think is critizism is often not so.

Thanks all for all your inputs. Though I've learned nothing since I allready know it all...not!
