Default New kid On The Block

Great forum, proud to be a part of it,I'm owner of a one man shop doing repairs & new installations---Started out many years ago serving a UA apprenticeship--started in new home construction before drywall replaced plaster walls. Over the year my experience has been on apartments ( new Construction), small & large commercial, Oil Refinery, Steel Mills, & hospital work.
Have always been a union Plumber---- In my youth as an apprentice the journeyman plumbers looked down at repair plumbers thinking that New Construction Plumbers were the best of the breed. For some reason I never shared
those feeling--- my feelings were a Plumber is a plumber regardless of new work or repair work.
In new construction I enjoyed ordering material & the job layout portion of the project as well as doing the complete install from rough to finish.
My first contact( other then occasional side jobs) with repair work was when
I went to work for Los Angeles County USC medical Center doing maintenance, repairs, & remodels----- This is when I gained a great deal of respect for the Repair Plumbers of the industry----That's more information then you need--
Looking forward to more of your posts. Much Respect
