Default Suprised.

Well I Must say that I am very surprised in the responses that I have received. It seems that not as many plumbers look at this the same way as I do, However in another post I have noticed people are more interested in this and support it. Each to their own I guess. I will keep continuing to fight the DIYERS and HANDYMAN

I think that they should be fined, Some plumbing jobs risk serious injury and or danger to the public, A poorly set up water tank that is connected to the wrong places can cause some big health problems

Default Water Tank

Just off the top of my head here are the issues with someone installing a water tank when they dont have the know how.

  • Injury or death because it is not installed correctly and the tank collapses
  • water borne diseases
  • contaminated water due to cross connections or poorly labeled water outlets or pipe work

Give me an example of how a water heater could be connected as to cause water bourne diseases?

How would you contaminate the water heater with a cross connection.

Doesn't water heaters already have the hot and cold labeled? H and C?

I dont label my pipe work when I install a water heater if its just the standard hook up....do you?

Water Tanks have more than one input or output, Some water tanks have a input from other water tanks or another supply, If you connect these outlets to the wrong pipes (e.g Sewer or rain water) then you can potentially be drinking diluted toilet water.

If pipes a poorly labeled then this can easily happen. I went to a job because their drinking water looked and smelled funny, when the only thing funny about it was.... well lets just say I dont think a plumber put the tank in.
