Leak was on a de-superheater heat recovery lineset in an attic. No traces of flux as far as I can tell.

So based on the patterning and the presence of sulfur in the spectroscopy, I'de lean towards the disolved hydrogen sulphide gas theory huh?

This is not from flux, it is a water issue..

I got the report from Mueller, will try to post it later.

Ban is a strong word Ron, but I think you are on the right track.

Only thing I had to pay was the shipping cost to Cerro, The southeast rep for Mueller came by my shop and picked up the copper tube. There was no charge from Mueller.

Yea, the presents of sulfur were pretty strong.

Here are a few past articles about the issues in Sarasota County. I know that 100's of homes were re-piped in the Palmer Ranch area. One article says 62% but I have heard now its getting close to 100%. I also heard that the county started helping homeowners with the cost. Most of the homes affected are around 8 to 12 year range. My customer is a little south of Palmer Ranch area and a Sarasota County resident, his problems started in the fall of '08, he is the second owner of this now 11 year old "money pit". There are 8 multi-millon dollar homes on his street and all have had issues.
