Default tile guy complaint

One of my best customers called me the other day and said she was having her shower repaired and needed a new strainer installed and that the tile guy could not do anything else until I got it fixed. I head right over and the drain is too tall and the floor needs to be busted. I alway rent jackhammers because I don't use them often, but there were none to rent until the next morning. I go back and attempt to bust the floor with a sledge but there was not enough room and the floor was too thick. I come back in the morning at 7am and have it fixed and cleaned up by 830am. Next day the tile guy calls and startes complaining because I didn't fill my hole in with concrete, which all the other tile guys say thay will do sence they already have to concrete the floor. Then he starts saying he could have done more work if he new I wasn't coming back the same day and said I should have my own jackhammer. So I asked if I could borrow his next time. Then the best thing he did was tell my customer that I overcharged them. Luckly the guy looked like a crack head and my customers did not care about what he said.

Like he should tell you want you should have and not have. I am glad your customer didn't listen to his bull.

Should have asked him if hes ever been knocked out before on a job. I asked a painter that and he got in his van and left. He was more than half drunk and making smart comments for about 2 hours. The house was vaccant and I had enough of him. That was only about 6 months ago. I should have slapped the guy across the face and not said a word.

I love when they cut/puncture your shower pan and then try to say that is was because you didn't put it in right after the shower is finished and the HO has water showing up. I always fill up my pans and make the inspector sign off on them so when it leaks after the tile guy can't pull that crap. I also pull the plug in front of the inspector too. That way when he sweeps all his grout into the drain when he's grouting it's his baby. That’s the kind of stuff they don’t teach ya in trade school.

Tile guys are the worst. Cant please any of them. And the next one that ask me to make sure I tuck the pan tight to the edges of the base is gonna be missing some teeth.

Tile guys are the worst. I have one thats nice - thats it. Recently a customer called and said the tile man wont come back until the shower valve is at the right position. I went out to look and told the customer his tile should be that perfect. Not everything we do is perfect but this was.

Put blue tape n the drains ,, take razor and trim it off clean . That way when you return to set trim ,,, you can pull the tape and not have to worry the tile fool filled it . .02
