Default Sump pump goes off every 20 mins

A customer of mine is complaining their sump goes off every 20 mins regardless of weather or temperature. This started about three weeks after a retaining wall was installed at their home. Their water bill is lower than usual so no major leak assumed. They are on top of a hill. Any ideas? I guess its simply recirculating the same water over and over. I may put die in the water and see

This should not be a public topic. Homeowners will google "sump pump going off" and this thread will show. Homeowners will then give more credibility to this thread than to a local plumber inside their home. C'mon man!

That's a catch 22. Leaving all threads mostly open for the public to browse through, then calling it a professional forum.

Block all but the intro thread, site support, articles until one is vetted as a member then open it up.

Way to much good information here. We are cutting the throats of licensed plumbers.

So the previous plumber a very reputable company in our area installed two zoeller pumps both the same pump one in the sewer ejector pit one in the sump pit. The sewer ejector pit has an 8" crack in the bottom and is bringing ground water in at the rate of 20 mins per cycle.
The client emailed me yesterday she wants to be there when we tear the old pit out so she can document because she wants to sue the old plumber? Any advice?

The best advice I could give you is to walk away from that mess......

Unless that sewage pit is fairly cleaned out that is gonna
be a nasty mess.... So how old is this original system that she wants to sue the original plumber that installed it??? Just a year or less??? She is blaming him for the cracked pit installed how long ago??

if you got to be involved take a video of it all and stay out of the suit..

that sounds like a fun time for everyone.. Wear waders too.

How can one prove that the installing plumber is responsible for the crack? Why didn't the HO have them service it? If they fix the problem there will be no one to sue.
