Default Outdoor gas fireplace

So the "new" thing I see these days are large flame outdoor gas fireplaces. When I say large flame....maybe 6-12" of flame. Well I got one to do....it's pretty straight forward and my only issue is with the section of pipe from the valve shutoff onwards. So the pit will be a semi-circle, aprox 6' at straight accros portion. Client wants as much flame as possible. I offered two sections of flame.....This is retarded, I'm going to draw something up......

Ok...So I'm looking for some tips on a quiet flame that is strong. I've done maybe a dozen of these, but they were smaller, with simple log lighters in them, this one will be custom. Tips - advice is appreciated.

How did you ever make out with this?

This post may be a little late, but I've put in gas to a few of these fire pits. I've used fire rings manufactured specifically for this purpose using a standard log lighter valve as a shut off. They are available from a variety of shapes and sizes in stainless on line.
