I have some real old timers I do work for that insist they feed me something. I always gladly accept a small sampling so not to insult them. I even had one lonely old guy tell me to come back in the evening if I can he would cook us up some steaks and have a few beers. I used to go there once a month and hang out with him and listen to his stories, till one day I went there and his daughter was there and informed me he had passed away. Then she handed me an envelope, she explained to me her dad told her I would be coming over that day and he wanted her to give me the envelope. It was a letter from him thanking me for keeping him company all those months and listening to his old stories and there was $5000.00 cash in there. After I read the letter, and before I had a chance to say anything to her she gave me a big huge and thanked me saying her father was never so happy to have a friend like me.

It seems like ever time I accept a tip, the customer expects a lower bill.

I rarely accept them because of that.

I refuse a tip(cash) the 1st time and inform them I'm the owner. If they offer again I take it and say thank you. People wait until you give them a bill before they tip you around here,so a lower invoice is not the motive with me. If they dont offer a second time then that means they really didn't want to give it to you.

I got a massage once.

No I'm serious...nothing else happened. She sold those therapeudic magnets, also fed me some garbage vegetarian goulash.

The massage didn't comfort the rotting vegetables in my stomach either.

What I hate is when a HO asks if you do work on the side.

These situations always happen like that. Change out a toilet, and they think you're a God, and going to tell all their neighbors how great you are throw money/food at you etc etc..... If you get an angry customer and unclog a filthy line or fix a water leak under a nasty nasty mobile, or sewer pump job, something filthy and they could care less, still just as unhappy as when they called.
Guess we're glad they're all not angry.
