Default No more Mr nice guy

So I did a water closet change out today and the Ho went to give me a $20 tip. Of course trying to be nice but really I wanted it I said "thanks but that's not necessary". Usually a Ho and I would go back and forth once or twice and I'll end up taking it. Not this guy, he said ok and shoved it back in his pocket. I was like D'OH. So I'm done. Next time I'm snatching from their hands.

I believe "thank you" is the correct response in that situation.

You are lucky he did not give you the tip. I found when home owners tip me, they jinx the job and we end up getting a call back.

What I find amusing is being the owner, and a customer not knowing that, and they try to tip me. Last customer, I made her keep it. I told her I was the owner, and that it was very much appreciated, but I do not want it.

we have a kid at work that says that, kinda. Says if he finds money on the ground he leaves it cuz it brings bad luck. I was going to throw a ten a ground and watch him and see what he does with it.

If someone is handing me money, I sincerely thank them, and grab it quick, before they change their mind.

My little brother was working with me one afternoon. Lady goes to tip him a 20. He declines. We get it the truck, I was like WTF are you kidding me who are you, Trump. He says I didn't think we were allowed to accept tips.

That will never happen again. (I firmly believe that a tip is to show appreciation for excellent service. It is not mandatory, as some waitstaff would believe!! )
